The short version
We collect only what we need to run RingTheTill: your account info, the invoices you create, and basic analytics so we can improve the product. We never sell your data. Your clients' details are yours.
Information we collect
- Account info — name, email, password (hashed), business details you add in Settings.
- Invoice data — clients, line items, descriptions, totals, payment status.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, error reports, IP address and user-agent.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
How we use your data
- To deliver the service: create, send, and track invoices.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., invoice notifications, password reset).
- To improve the product through aggregated analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers that help us run RingTheTill: hosting and database (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), payments (Stripe), and email delivery (our email provider). They are bound by contracts and process data on our behalf.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from Settings, or by emailing us. If you live in the EU, UK, or California, you also have rights under GDPR/CCPA, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep records (e.g., paid invoices for tax purposes).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are salted and hashed. Access to production systems is limited and audited.
